Being the only Ernaux I've read so far, she certainly has a style. It's not necessarily the sort of style I usually gravitate towards, but especially for this topic, that frank honesty absolutely fits. It's a personal story, but one that doesn't pretend it's not a political one. The act of remembering how you got here and not letting yourself forget.
