This is one I didn't read back when, and that's my loss. Sure you could argue that some of the early-90s feminist deconstruction of the hero myth is less than subtle, but it's driven by enough vim and some of the strongest prose I've yet to read from Le Guin. I love love love that Tenar gets to come back, gets to be valid even after 20+ years as just another muggle...
